Q: 1. I have misplaced my Treadmill Safety Key, what is the process to purchase another one?

Q: 2. Why is Treadmill, Bike or Cross Trainer not working?

The power is not turned on -

Treadmills: check the power switch on the back of the unit, Check the switch on the wall is turned on. Safety key is not inserted, Controls are incorrectly set.

Bikes/Cross Trainers: Check the power supply (which plugs into the back of the unit) is inserted properly, Check the Light is glowing on Power supply (this will show if power supply is operating correctly), Check the switch on the wall is tunred on.

The household fuse has blown or power supply is off: If the fuse continues to blow or power supply light is not glowing, contact York Assist to help with trouble shooting.

Q: 3. What should I do if I don't plan to use my equipment for a few weeks, or will be away on holidays?

Leave the Power switched off at the wall, and disconnect the plug from the socket.

This will help prevent any electrical problems in the future, just in case there is a lightening strike or power surge while your away.

Q: 4. If I have electrical cardio equipment in a holiday house should I keep turning it on and off?

This depends entirely on the customer's needs and times involved. It will not hurt the the cardio equipment either way.

Q: 5. What is the Difference between an Electro Magnetic Tension and a Computer Controlled Tension?

Electro Magnetic resistance
The smoothest and most accurate magnetic resistance available – actually uses an electro-magnet and electrical current to control resistance levels - allowing small adjustments to be made and keeping the resistance smooth and constant at the highest settings

Magnetic resistance
The resistance is controlled by a magnet, which is moved closer to or further away from the flywheel. It can be controlled manually, by twisting a dial, or electronically, with buttons on the console.

Q: 6. What is the difference between a Built in Wireless Receiver and Hand Pulse Receiver?

Wireless receiver
The most reliable and accurate form of heart rate measurement – the receiver allows the signal from a chest strap to be transmitted wirelessly to the machine

Hand pulse
The simplest way to get your heart rate during training, hand pulse sensors are integrated into the product and require you to place both your hands onto them

Visible cushioning system

Q: 12. My Treadmill running mat has moved over to one side of the running deck, How can i adjust this?

Please refer to your instruction manual, as this should explain in detail how to fix your problem.

if your running mat will not re-centre, please contact York Assist.

Q: 13. What is your turn around for repairs ?

Our usual turn around for repairs is 3-5 workings days after service call is booked. Rural areas may take longer due to travelling time.

Please note if we do not have a repairer in your local area we will request to take move equipment closer to us or the place of purchase.

Q: 14. Why cant I put the treadmill in the folding position ?

Make sure the treadmill is flat position, the incline must be down all the way.
